Dressing Up for a Costume Ball

A masquerade, or costume ball, can be tons of fun; the costumes help everyone to get into a party mood, and you get the fun of choosing a great costume and trying to guess who's hiding behind each of the other outfits! Masquerade balls have been in fashion for hundreds of years; the earliest known occurred in 1393! (Of course, in that first costume party, the king of France and several other men ended up catching on fire; most costume balls today are a bit safer!)
